What are the realities of the US Immigration System?  Why don’t the estimated 11 million people in the US without legal status bother to get papers?  What are some real solutions to unauthorized immigration?  These are three of the most misunderstood questions concerning the topic of immigration in the US.  Fr. Wayne will be presenting insights to these questions and more, based on his work in the field as an Immigration Advocate and on Catholic Social Doctrine.

Fr. Wayne Dziekan is a Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Gaylord, ordained in 1994.  For most of his ordained life he has been an Immigration Advocate after becoming passionate about what he was seeing around him in Northern Michigan and after learning about immigration dynamics through co-leading several immersion trips to the US/Mex border and through visiting my countries in Latin America.  Fr. Wayne works in the Hispanic Ministry of the Diocese, based in Traverse City.
