You may be familiar with Susan B Anthony, the matriarch of national woman suffrage, but do you know Emma Lamb Barnes Baker of Petoskey and Bay View? Do you know Frances Webb Oldham? or Edith Doe Sly? According to Petoskey newspaper archives, the suffrage movement was alive here in the early 1900s with several of its women rallying for the cause. Ten of them are interred at Greenwood Cemetery.
Join us on a free tour of the final resting places of these women, and learn how they got to Petoskey, who they married, if they had kids, how they were involved in the community, and most importantly, how they left it better for all of us.
