Spring Stress Reduction Course

This evidence-based course was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and is offered at medical centers, hospitals, and colleges worldwide. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has a proven record of reducing stress, illness, and pain.
Scientific research for MBSR has consistently demonstrated:
● Decreased stress, anxiety, and depression
● Reduced symptoms of chronic illness and chronic pain
● Improved focus, attention, and sleep
● Strengthened immune system
● Greater empathy and compassion for yourself and others
● Increased well-being and self-awareness
This evidence-based, experiential program is designed to provide participants with practices to foster increased stress management and well-being. The training explores mindful meditation and movement practices and includes an all-day retreat.
Classes are small. The only requirement is a desire to learn and a willingness to participate.
Orientation: Monday, April 25, 6:00-8:30 pm
Classes: Mondays, 5/2, 5/9, 5/23, 5/30, 6/6, 6/13, 6/20, 6/27 6:00-8:30 pm
All-Day Retreat: Saturday, June 11, 8:45 am-4:30 pm

Instructor, Amy Janssens, MA
Amy Janssens is a mindfulness educator, MBSR Teacher trained through Brown University, and a Mindful Schools Certified Instructor. Amy brings evidence-based practices to reduce stress and increase joy. As a licensed teacher, Amy holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Michigan State University.
Amy shares practices and tools for self-regulation and self-awareness with children, adults, families, schools, businesses, and non-profit organizations throughout Michigan. Passionate about teaching and learning, Amy loves to empower others with the tools to show up in the ways they most want and form deeper connections in their lives.
