What to expect for the future of money exchange, and crypto as an investment
For over 300 years the United States has employed the current core systems for currency and money exchange. Cryptocurrency is changing the game for investors, businesses, and governments around the world – and citizens are about to feel the seismic shift as nations frantically prepare for the coming of a worldwide currency system. Cryptocurrency is simply a “digital asset,” highly encrypted using blockchain processing and recordkeeping (referred to as mining). It is decentralized in nature, meaning it is not controlled by a central financial or government authority. While Bitcoin accounts for about half of tracked cryptocurrency, there are over 18,000 coins and tokens in circulation (as of March 2022) vying for validity and financial strength. Suzanne Perry will present a basic overview of cryptocurrency as an investment and as a growing means of money exchange, along with the cultural transformation set in motion with its arrival.
