Mechatronics is a multi-disciplinary field that integrates mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering into the design, development, and implementation of automated systems. It provides a critical foundation for Industry 4.0: smart, automated, data-informed systems that connect the entire enterprise from concept to customer.
This course will introduce students to basic concepts of automation and manufacturing processes used in Industry 4.0. Students will gain a broad-based background in industrial safety, AC/DC electricity, electrical relay control, mechanical drives, electronic sensors, pneumatics and hydraulics, and robotics. Students will also be introduced to how each of these technologies is integrated into Industry 4.0 through virtual and hands-on laboratory activities.
Mechatronics skills are in high-demand with local manufacturers. Your participation in this program includes:
• 75 hours of online training
• 70 hours of hands-on, in-person training
• Interactive sessions and real-world simulations
• Assistance with grant opportunities to cover tuition
• Access to communication with qualified instructors
• SACA Industry certification exam
• Assistance with job placement
• Access to NCMC facilities and learning resources
