Forgotten Founders

There were many more Constitutional founders than most know about. Gouverneur Morris, a founder, spoke more than any other delegate at the Constitutional Convention and was the one who actually shaped the Constitution into its finished form. Everyone knows Jefferson and Madison, but Richard Henry Lee should be known as the real Father of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Roger Sherman was the only person to sign all four of the great state papers of the United States: the Continental Association, the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution.

Heather Dudley, Ph.D. from Georgetown University, writes a blog - charactermattered. org - and wrote a book about the founders and liberty: The Free and Virtuous: Why the Founders Knew that Character Mattered.
