and it's History in Northern Michigan and Nationally

Do you know the history of your local League of Women Voters (LWV) Organization? How they started and what they do locally as well as nationally?  This volunteer, now not-for-women-only,  non-partisan and non-profit organization works tirelessly to help bring information to the voting public.  In this presentation, Robin Jordan, President of the local League of Women Voters of Northern Lower Michigan, will cover the origin and history of the League of Women Voters locally and nationally, as well as its goals, values and mission, and the many services and programs provided by the LWV.

Robin Jordan is in her 2nd term as President of the local League of Women Voters of Northern Lower Michigan. She holds a master’s degree in Maternal Child Health from Case Western University and a Ph.D in Health Science Research. Robin was a certified nurse midwife at Northern Michigan Hospitals for 18 years and a Professor of Nursing at North Central Michigan College, retiring in 2016. She is the editor of two women’s health care textbooks and is a fellow of the American College of Nurse Midwives. Robin is a long-time resident of Petoskey and has served as a volunteer with various community organizations.
