CNA classes are an excellent choice for students who want to enter the field of nursing and earn valuable healthcare experience in a relatively fast and cost-effective way. CNA training prepares students to become certified nursing assistants, who are responsible for helping patients with activities of daily living, assisting with personal hygiene, and communicating vital health information about a patient’s condition to other medical staff.
This two-week class is divided into three parts, and includes 34 hours of classroom learning, 16.5 hours of skill practice time in the laboratory, and 24.5 hours of supervised clinical practice at Grandvue.
Prerequisites: Must be age 16 or older, background check completed (we will send link) and proof of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test.
When finished with the program, you will be able to
- Assist patients and residents in attaining and maintaining functional independence.
- Effectively communicate and interact with clients, families and other health team members.
- Demonstrate an understanding of client's emotional, social, and physical needs through sensitive interactions and behaviors.
- Display an attitude of understanding of client's rights.
- Demonstrate observational and documentation skills needed in the assessment of client's health and well being.
This 2-week program includes:
