Registration

  • This non-refundable fee provides Fast Track students access to tutoring and testing, counseling, academic advising, career services, the Athletic Center courts and running or walking track, library resources, Campus Cupboard, student organization and Student Senate events, and athletic events, while excluding eligibility for Residence Hall housing and participation in athletics.

Tuition: $2,500 (Grant funding possibilities may be available with registration)

Class Dates: September 15 - December 10, 2026*
Tuesdays and Thursdays •  5:30 - 8:30 PM
*Hass Certifications take place on December 10th • 5:30 - 7:30 PM
*Class will not be held on Thursday, November 26.

A CNC Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of manufacturing machinery. Their duties include running tests before the start of operations, programming and monitoring machines when assembling products and inspecting machinery at the end of each shift to identify parts needing repair.  

This program provides 80 hours of training and includes Industrial and CNC Safety, Blueprint interpretation, Precision measurement and metrology, CNC fundamentals and simulation, Hass online operator training, and Hass Mill and Lathe Laboratory. A Capstone and performance assessments are also required.

Students who successfully complete the program will receive:

  • Hass Basic Mill Operator Certification 
  • Hass Basic Lathe Operator Certificate
  • NCMC Fast Track CNC Operator Certificate

Credit for Prior Learning 
Completion of the program and required Hass certifications qualifies students to receive credit for Manufacturing 101 through NCMC's Credit for Prior Learning process.

Regional Wage and Labor Benchmarks

Based on the current data, which was gathered from seven Northern Michigan counties, the current Regional Median Wage for Computer Numerically Controlled Tool Operators is $52,583. The National Median Wage for this field is $50,690.

This 13 week program includes:
